5 Delicious homemade Costa Rican recipes of cocktails to try at home

Our bartender Melo shared with us his top 5 cocktail recipe secrets to make Nicuesa’s natural and delicious cocktails.

Selva del Golfo

  • 1 ounce of mint liquor
  • 1 1/2 ounce of Cacique Costa Rican liquor
  • 1/2 ounce of lemon juice
  • 3 ounces of orange juice

How to prepare: Mix all ingredients in shaker except orange juice. Then fill with orange juice.

 Orange cocktail

Thai Mojito

  • 4 basil leafs
  • 1 small piece of ginger
  • 1 1/2 ounces of rum
  • 1 1/2 ounces of lemon juice
  • 1 ounce of sugar syrup

How to prepare:  In a medium bowl, mash basil, ginger and lemon with a muddler. Set aside to macerate for 15-30 minutes. Then add ingredients and cover with ice.

Caipirinha Tica

  • 1 ounce of Cacique Costa Rica liquor
  • 4 slices of lemon
  • 2 table spoons of brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 ounces of lemon juice

How to prepare: Macerate lemon for 10 minutes and add ingredients. Then cover with crushed ice.

Tormenta Negra

  • 1 1/2 ounces of rum
  • 1 1/2 ounces of lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce of syrup
  • 1/2 ginger
  • Ginger ale
  • 1/2 ounce of Bavaria Dark Costa Rican beer

How to prepare: Macerate ginger with lemon on mortar, then mix with ice in a glass and add ingredients. Cover with ginger ale and add a splash of Bavaria Black.

Cachanazo

  • 1 1/2 ounces of Cacique Costa Rican liquor
  • 1 ounce of passion fruit juice
  • 1 1/2 ounces of coconut cream
  • 1 ounce of orange juice

How to prepare: Mix in shaker with crushed ice.
